Join us on our summer tour as we explore various strawberry production systems, learn about northern nursery practices, and discover new varieties and technologies. We’ll also have opportunities to see raspberries, blueberries, and other agricultural crops.
We begin our first day at Vermeulen Farms, where we'll explore high tunnel strawberry production and tip production. Next, we’ll visit Vital Berry Farm to view tabletop strawberries and raspberries grown under high tunnels.
From there, we’ll continue on to Sea Level Brewing at: Millstone Harvest Brewhouse.
The tour then proceeds to G.W. Allen Nursery for an overview of northern nursery production, followed by C.O. Keddy Nursery, where we’ll learn about UV-C light field applications, Agriculture Canada’s variety selections, and both June-bearing and plasticulture systems.
We’ll wrap up the day with a seafood experience at Halls Harbour Lobster Pound before returning to the hotel.
Day 2 starts with a visit to Millen Farms to explore June-bearing and day-neutral strawberries, new varieties, and lowbush blueberries.
We’ll conclude with lunch and a tour of Masstown Market and Creamery.
